Deerhunter – “Living My Life”

Ahead of this Friday’s release, Fading Frontier, Deerhunter have a video for “Living My Life.” Bradford Cox has taken on directorial duties for the video for “Living My Life.” Cox describes it as “macro meditations on geology and botany to observations of afternoon light filtered onto wooden floors. The video is dedicated to Miles Davis. Enjoy!

Greys: “The Voyeur”

Canadian noise-rockers Greys have premiered a new track and accompanying music video for their track “The Voyeur” off their upcoming Repulsion EP, out October 30, 2015 via Carpark/Buzz Records. Repulsion is now available for pre-order HERE from Carpark in the US and from Buzz in Canada as well as on iTunes and is limited to 300 physical copies.

Greys will be playing at Exploding in Sound’s CMJ showcase on October 16 at Palisades in Brooklyn, before heading out on tour with Indian Handcrafts (all tour dates below).

The Saddest Landscape: “Til Our Ears Bleed”

Topshelf Records is set to release a new LP from The Saddest Landscape this month. Darkness Forgives is officially out on 10/23/15 and is now available for Pre-Order. The “Til Our Ears Bleed” is a track that captures what the band is all about.

The Saddest Landscape will be playing a trio of weekend dates in October and November to support the upcoming album. The band rarely plays outside of the Northeast so these shows are a bit special! On the West Coast the band will be supported by State Faults. In the midwest, support comes from Empire! Empire! (i was a lonely estate). Boston and NYC shows supported by Vattnet Viskar. Trailer Premiere: Linear Downfall – “Sufferland”

I know – The Fire Note is not a movie site so why do we have a trailer premiere today? Well, the easy answer is that the film Sufferland was created by the Nashville experimental band Linear Downfall as an accompiment to their full length album of the same name that is set to release on November 6th.

The film is described as, “A walk through the many compartmentalized landscapes in the mind of a tormented girl who is under the control of a tormented man,” and was chosen to be a part of the 2015 Nashville Film Festival. It will not take you long into the trailer to feel and hear the intesity of this film and record!

The cool thing about this duel release project is that Linear Downfall did everything. They wrote, directed, edited and even built the sets at their house for this film. The trailer is intense and I will warn you that cutting meat will never be the same! It also won’t surprise you to know that a couple of influences for this film were David Lynch and Federico Fellini.

If this seems a bit far out for you it is important to know that this is not Linear Downfall’s first rodeo. The band has self-released three albums and one EP, extensively toured the U.S., and joined the Flaming Lips with their side project called the Electric Würms. Linear Downfall will be touring the film with a list of screenings across the US to promote the release and upcoming tour.
