Daughter Bat And The Lip Stings
Sydney, Australia

Daughter Bat and the Lip Stings is essentially a one man show with Angus Lewis. Under this moniker, he has been releasing a steady output of EPs and singles of lo-fi DIY bedroom punk during this COVID time which is a lo-fi collector’s dream. The raw rock is addicting, short and perfect to pick up and play. Daughter Bat’s strength is the warm fuzz that Lewis brings to these tracks with such a low key approach. TFN would like to see Daughter Bat And The Lip Stings put a full length out soon!

Liam Bailey
London, England

Ekundayo is Liam Bailey’s debut record for Big Crown Records. If you know the label then you already have an idea of what Bailey will be bringing to your speakers! You would be right if you thought soul but initially all you will hear is his reggae beats. What is great about this album is that Bailey dives deeper with his added soul and R&B approach that creates an entirely different groove. Bailey was born and raised in Nottingham, England, the son of an English mother and Jamaican father got his early influences from his mom’s record collection. Bob Marley and Dillinger, Stevie Wonder and The Supremes, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix have shaped the singer/songwriter into what he is today. Make sure you check out his new record on November 13th for something fresh.

Jack Name
Los Angeles, California

Jack Name is set to release his third full length, Magic Touch, on November 20th, 2020, via Mexican Summer. You may remember his 2014 debut, Light Show, was on Ty Segall’s Drag City imprint GOD? and his sophomore album, Weird Moons, was released by Castle Face Records in 2015. Five years is easily enough time for change as Magic Touch still offers the intricate complexity of his previous releases, but here Name has done away with the dense production of his earlier work to make a record that feels stark, personal, and effortlessly natural. Sometimes change is good and Jack Name is proof that taking a chance can pay off as Magic Touch will hold your ear with its much softer delivery.
