Pulp – “Got To Have Love” [Video]

Pulp Drop New Track “Got To Have Love” + New Album More Out June 6

Jarvis Cocker and company are back with another taste of their long-awaited comeback, and this one hits straight to the heart — and the hips. “Got To Have Love” is the second single from More, Pulp’s first studio album in nearly 24 years, and it’s pure Northern Soul swagger, filtered through Jarvis’ self-aware charm and a late-night disco glow.

In classic Jarvis fashion, the lyrics read like an inner monologue turned dancefloor sermon — part confessional, part pep talk. “Love is a word I was unable to say until I was approaching 40,” he admits. Now, he’s shouting it from the rooftops with an infectious groove to match.

The track arrives with a fittingly kinetic visual, splicing together footage from the legendary 1977 Wigan Casino documentary (shoutout to Tony Palmer) with the band’s own rhythm-driven pulse. Directed by Cocker himself, the video celebrates the sweaty joy of movement — a love letter to dancing that’s as honest as it is hypnotic. “This is the best footage of dancing I’ve ever seen,” says Jarvis, who first discovered it through Mark Leckey’s Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore.

Pulp is also giving fans an early listen to More through special in-store playback events at record shops across the globe. Expect good vibes, exclusive merch, and a few surprises — full details and locations are up now at welovepulp.info.

The band’s UK and Ireland arena dates kick off in June (most already sold out), with a full North American run set for September. And if two nights at the Hollywood Bowl alongside LCD Soundsystem doesn’t scream comeback season, what does?
