Phoebe Bridgers

It has been four years since Phoebe Bridgers released original music. “Lost Boys,” the lead single from her third album Lost Weekend (Dead Oceans, August 14), ends that stretch with the kind of arrival that reminds you exactly why people were waiting. The video, directed by Lance Oppenheim and Pablo Rochat, sends Bridgers and cast to a Renaissance faire for a Live Action Role Play session. It is exactly as good as that sounds.

The track is a genuine production event. Produced by Tony Berg, Ethan Gruska, Jack Antonoff, and Bridgers herself, with additional production from Alex G, it features Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus, Caroline Shaw, Chris Thile on mandolin, Blake Mills, Rob Moose on strings, and Harrison Whitford on 12-string guitar, among others. The vocal arrangement is by Caroline Shaw and Bridgers. Mixed by Mike Mogis. It is a lot of people doing a lot of things, and it coheres completely.

Her newly announced arena tour sold out in North America and the UK within hours of the general on-sale.

The Lost Tour kicks off September 14 in Indianapolis and runs through December, with every North American date sold out and most European dates going the same way. Alex G supports the North American run; Isaac Wood and Anaïs join for UK and Europe. Pre-order Lost Weekend below.
