Fire Drill Album Review: Cambridge, MA’s Sweet John Bloom play quick and fast post-punk rock that will keep your feet tapping. Clocking 15 songs in 35 minutes is harder to do than you might think, especially when they cram all of their high energy guitar and lyrics into these 2 minute packages. Weird Player is a mixed bag of 90’s styles with indie rock like Guided By Voices and punk such as The Humpers but also flexes some current sounds comparable to Parquet Courts and Japandroids.
