“Deep within that haunting, old-fashioned sound is the spirit of a plugged-in punk rocker, eager and ready to make some noise.” writes American Songwriter of the fiery singer-songwriter William Elliott Whitmore and his album Radium Death. Here is the new video for the track “Civilizations” of which Whitmore says, “This song is for everyday folks trying to get along in an increasingly chaotic world. Societies crumble, but people persevere. “
“Civilizations” took several months to create and delivers an artfully animated performance of the song by Whitmore set within an evocative sepia tone world and written images of the song’s lyrics. The clip was co directed by Joel Anderson and animator Matt Scharenbroich. The initial inspiration came from Anderson, who after watching Whitmore perform the song live, took note of how the lyrics conjured images of the rise and fall of humanity and history repeating itself. Whitmore also gives much credit to Scharenbroich for driving this video home with his very impressive animation skills.

U.S. Girls – “Sororal Feelings”
Ater releasing 4AD debut Half Free less than two weeks ago, U.S. Girls has now shared a video for opening track ‘Sororal Feelings’.
Filmed by Lulu Hazel Turnbull and edited by Meg, the gripping footage represents the constant artistic evolution of Meg Remy, finding Half Free’s striking portrait dismembered and dismantled as her signature blond locks are shaved off by Jennifer Hazel. The video represents the artist’s ongoing conversation with both gender and genre, as reflected throughout Half Free’s acclaimed collection of songs.
U.S. Girls is currently on tour and you can see the current dates below.

Wet Ashes: “Spot On The Sun”
Wet Ashes is a Chicago rock band with influences ranging from Post Punk to Brit Pop and New Wave to Shoegaze. Their beginning goes back to 2009, when singer/guitarist Angel Soto presented a few of his compositions to Raul “Picho” Torres. Soon, the ideas between the two of them began to flow naturally and it was inevitable that Picho would produce and create the musical arrangements for Angel’s songs.
They have just released their new video for “Spot On The Sun” in support of their self-released effort, Acoustronic Tales, that came out this week.
