Upchuck Unleash Dual Videos for “Forgotten Token” & “Un Momento” Ahead of new album I’m Nice Now
Atlanta’s fiercest punk crew, Upchuck, are back and louder than ever. The five-piece—KT on vocals, Mikey Durham and Hoff on guitars, Ausar Ward on bass, and Chris Salado on drums—have announced their third album and first for Domino, I’m Nice Now, dropping October 3. Recorded with Ty Segall at Sonic Ranch and mastered by Heba Kadry, this record channels raw fury into something sharp and unforgettable.
Don’t let the title fool you—I’m Nice Now doesn’t mean they’ve mellowed out. KT explains it’s more about protecting your sanity in a world that constantly tests it. That mindset pulses through their latest singles, “Forgotten Token” and “Un Momento,” both of which just landed with equally gripping videos directed by Ian Cone.
“Forgotten Token” cuts deep. Written in the wake of KT losing her sister during the album’s recording, it deals with grief, anger, and how people can be treated like objects—discarded and dehumanized. The track slams with the urgency of that pain, while the video threads in the band’s personal story with scenes of gentrification and family cameos from KT’s mother, grandmother, and brother.
On “Un Momento,” Chris steps up to the mic, pulling from his roots in cumbia to fuse a drum-driven explosion with Upchuck’s punk edge. The song, sung partly in Spanish, is a plea for space—to suffer, to think, to live, to fly. The video celebrates his Little Mexico neighborhood in North Atlanta, featuring his father and son. The day after filming, ICE raided the area, leaving the community shaken. The visuals hit even harder knowing what followed.
These two tracks, along with the previously released “Plastic,” set the tone for I’m Nice Now—a record that fights back with grit and heart. Pre-orders are live now on silver vinyl, black vinyl, CD, and digital formats (all versions include a foldout poster). Pre-order here: DomMart | Digital
