Video Premiere: Rodolphe Coster And Band – “The Free House Session”

| | , , ,

Today’s video premiere is from the legendary Rodolphe Coster, renowned multidisciplinary artist and activist from Brussels. During the last 5 years, the Brussels artist performed in Canada, Europe, the United States, and Japan and notably opened for Black Dice, Grimes, Molly Nilsson, Liars, Italia 90, and Thee Oh Sees.

This beautiful live session video below was shot in Capitane Records Studio: The Free House. The session was filmed in a sequence shot by Minhea Popescu and captures all the electrical power and life impulses released by Rodolphe Coster and Band. The session opens with “Gilles Memory”, an unreleased song, written in tribute to a friend of Rodolphe who died during the terrorist attacks that took place in Brussels in 2016. The second song performed is called “Seagulls Fly on Highways” which was released a few weeks ago as a single.

Coster is releasing his new LP, High With The People, on November 25th via Capitane Records. Both of the above tracks are on the record as the album features an all star lineup of band-mates. Recorded at the legendary Studio G in Brooklyn, the album was produced by Matt Jones (Male Gaze, Castle Face Records) and brings together a dream team of soulful musicians including Jeff Tobias (Sunwatchers), Sarah Register (Lou Reed, Depeche Mode, Protomartyr), Atsuko Hatano, (Jim O’rourke) and Maya Postepski (Princess Century, The Organ) among others.
