Who: Danny (Dan Kroha) was a founding member of the legendary Gories. Bug Out is the second LP from Danny & The Darleans.

Sound: With the Darleans, Kroha returns to his garage rock Detroit roots that is played from the hip with hard hitting Rn’B style jams.

TFN Final Take: This was an album that I knew would be a definite must to check out given Dan Kroha’s Gories resume but I never expected it to rock this hard. Bug Out contains no surprises if you were hoping for a throwback sound that feels like you are watching a live show in some hot basement with pulsing instruments and every chord hitting the right spot. That raw and un-filtered sound is exactly what Danny & The Darleans deliver on Bug Out. Kroha’s sharp yelp vocals take command with a veteran Detroit swagger and the album’s grinding Rn’B undertone will keep you coming back. Honestly, Bug Out is one of the best garage rock albums you will hear this year!
