MAQUINA. Go Fully Instrumental on “simulation” and It Hits Like a Freight Train
MAQUINA. have built their reputation on making punks dance and club kids pogo, packing out venues and sending multiple waves of crowdsurfers overhead at any given show. On BODY TRANSMISSION, their second album and follow-up to 2024’s PRATA, the Lisbon trio bottle that energy and push it somewhere darker and more focused. The new record was made with less jamming and more editing: condensing 10-minute meanders into three or four-minute bangers, keeping the tempo up and the energy peaking throughout.
“simulation” is their first fully instrumental track, and it lands exactly right. Guitar becomes a percussive engine, driving chugging beats, siren-like wails, and sharp metallic strikes through a tight industrial punk blast. Motorik heaviness refined into a dancefloor-ready rush. The video was made from footage shot on the band’s recent tour of Brazil.
BODY TRANSMISSION was co-produced by the band alongside Hugo Valverde. It arrives July 10 on Fuzz Club, and MAQUINA. have a huge run of live dates across Europe, the UK, and festival slots lined up through September. Pre-order it below.
