Still Standing: Guided By Voices Drop First Single Off Their 44th Record
Guided By Voices are back and showing absolutely zero signs of slowing down. Bob Pollard and crew just unveiled “We Outlast Them All,” the lead single off their upcoming LP Crawlspace Of The Pantheon, dropping May 29th via GBV Inc Records.
If last years Rich And Delicious wasn’t enough proof these guys are untouchable, this new one seals the deal. “We Outlast Them All” is a straight-up anthem, the kind of fist-pumping victory song that feels earned after decades in the trenches.
Pollard said this about the record: “‘We Outlast Them All’ could be our ‘We Are The Champions’ but it’s not necessarily about us. It’s about anyone who perseveres over a long period of time.”
He also opened up about pushing himself harder on the writing side this time around. “I chiseled away at lines and sections and phrasings. I wanted them to have an overall emotionally conceptual feel. At times it feels somewhat autobiographical.”
Crawlspace Of The Pantheon rolls out with a packed 12 track lineup including “Lost in the Sun,” “Dagon’s Plunger,” “No Shoe Fits (Floating Babies)” and the gloriously titled “(How Would You Like a) Chariot Ride.” Classic GBV weirdness, all of it.
No live shows planned for 2026, but nice to still have a consistent release schedule in tact. Snag your copy here and get ready for May 29th.
