White Reaper – “Blue 42” [Video]

White Reaper Call the Play With “Blue 42”

Kentucky’s favorite chaos-bringers White Reaper are back with a new single and video, “Blue 42,” from their upcoming album Only Slightly Empty, dropping September 26 via Blue Grape Music.

The track is one of the band’s heaviest yet, trading their usual neon-bright hooks for a darker, sludgier stomp that still manages to feel massive and ridiculously fun. It’s a different lane for White Reaper, but one that shows off their knack for twisting arena-sized riffs into something raw and urgent.

The rest of Only Slightly Empty finds the group weathering a few years of lineup changes, burnout, and label headaches—and coming out stronger. Self-produced and recorded with engineer Joey Oaxaca, the record still carries their power-pop punch but injects it with ’90s alt grit and widescreen drama. According to singer/guitarist Tony Esposito, making the album gave him the same nerves he had when they first started out: “Everything’s so different now but I have that excitement again.”

The album is up for preorder now, and White Reaper will be hitting the road this fall with Lip Critic, Worlds Worst, and Dazy. Don’t miss “Blue 42” video, and check the full tour itinerary to see when they’re crashing through your city.
