Chat Pile and Hayden Pedigo – “Radioactive Dreams” [Video]

Rust Never Sleeps: Chat Pile & Hayden Pedigo Go Nuclear

Chat Pile teaming up with Hayden Pedigo might sound like oil and water, but In the Earth Again proves otherwise—it’s gasoline and a match. Out October 31 via Computer Students with support from The Flenser, the record takes Pedigo’s wide-open plains fingerpicking and fuses it with Chat Pile’s scorched-earth heaviness. The result? A haunting, strangely beautiful soundtrack to the backroads apocalypse.

First taste comes with “Radioactive Dreams,” a track that captures both the eerie calm and teeth-gritting dread of a world left to rot. Chat Pile lean into murkier moods and tape-loop experiments, while Pedigo warps his usually pastoral guitar tone into something sharp and unsettling. It’s not one band backing the other—it’s both of them dissolving into a shared fever dream.

At just over half an hour, In the Earth Again runs like a cracked road map through decay, grief, and catharsis—jumping from dusty calm to jagged eruptions. The cover by Malcolm Byers fits perfectly, and the label’s rolling out some wild formats: black, silver, gold, oxblood vinyl in aluminum sleeves, CDs, cassettes—the whole works.

“Radioactive Dreams” is streaming now. The collaborative LP is out 10/31 from Computer Students with support from The Flenser [pre-order].
