Orcutt Shelley Miller Drop Hypnotic New Track “Four-Door Charger” Ahead of Debut Album
Bill Orcutt (Harry Pussy), Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth) and Ethan Miller (Howlin Rain, Feral Ohms, Comets On Fire). are teaming up to melt minds as Orcutt Shelley Miller, and their latest single “Four-Door Charger” is a trip worth taking. Clocking in at almost nine minutes, this slow-burning epic drifts from kraut-inspired grooves into a driving, motorik storm that nods to Klaus Dinger while brushing against the jagged edges of late ’80s Sonic Youth. It’s a heady ride that manages to stay locked in while feeling totally unhinged.
Their self-titled debut Orcutt Shelley Miller drops September 5 via Silver Current Records. The trio—each a legend in their own lane pull from free jazz chaos, ’70s European freak-rock, and ’90s underground experimentation to chase something raw and alive. The chemistry is electric, and the results sound like three lifers pushing each other into new territory.
This record is shaping up to be a standout. Orcutt Shelley Miller is out September 5th on Vinyl (including a limited-pressing handmade LP edition), CD and Digital formats. Pre-order available here.
They’re also hitting the road, with West Coast dates in September and East Coast shows lined up for November. Catch them if you can:
