Mac DeMarco is Back With “Home” and a New Album Coming Soon
Mac DeMarco is rolling out a fresh chapter. His new album Guitar lands August 22 via Mac’s Record Label, and today he’s sharing the first taste: “Home,” a laid-back, bittersweet tune about letting go of the past and figuring out what home really means. He wrote it in LA, shot the video canoeing near his mom’s place in Canada, and as always—it’s all Mac. He played everything, mixed it himself in Canada, and even handled the album art and videos solo (tripod style).
Mac calls Guitar his most personal release yet, saying, “I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper.” The LP was knocked out in one month back in November 2024 at his Los Angeles home. Twelve new songs, including “Home,” with track titles like “Terror,” “Rooster,” and “Nothing At All”—expect heartfelt weirdness, dusty strumming, and more of that DeMarco charm that’s as warm as it is offbeat.
If you missed snagging a ticket to his sold out 2025 shows, good news: Mac’s hitting the road again in 2026. He’ll be traveling through Japan, Hong Kong, and much of the U.S., bringing along the full crew from Mac’s Record Label. Expect live sets from Mock Media, Tex Crick, Daryl Johns, and Vicky Farewell. All newly announced shows go on sale this Friday, June 27 at 12PM ET.
