Album Overview: Strange Weather is Levitation Room’s third album, marking a vibrant new chapter in their modern psychedelic rock journey. It builds upon the Los Angeles quartet’s established cosmic sound while delving deeper into dreamy, lo-fi atmospheres and ’60s-inspired sonics. The album explores themes of love, urban life, and the illusionary nature of the world, inviting listeners on a surreal musical voyage.

Musical Style: Levitation Room’s musical style can by characterized by floaty, cosmic arrangements that draw from psychedelic rock and ’60s aesthetics. Their sound features ethereal guitar melodies, hypnotic rhythms, and dreamy vocal harmonies, creating an immersive sonic experience but here they also at times can turn the amps up that create instant connections.

Adding new member Kevin Perez (bass) in 2021, Levitation Room have continued to expand that also includes collaborating with former Brian Jonestown Massacre keyboardist Rob Campanella, Jason Kick (Mild High Club), and Black Crowes’ Joel Robinow.

Pivotal Tracks: “Heaven” stands out on Strange Weather and is the perfect opening track, as it blends serene melodies with grinding grooves, showcasing the band’s versatility and songwriting prowess. Other notable tracks include “Cool It Baby” that features Thee Sacred Souls’ Jensine Benitez. It is one of the catchiest songs the band has created with its swaying rhythms and its undertone of soul fits like a glove. On the closing “The Other Side,” the band mixes its slow burn psych style perfectly with these fantastically timed 60 style mod guitar rock out moments that will quickly have you coming back for more!

Lyrical Strength: The lyrics on Strange Weather offer reflections on life’s contrasts and experiences. Themes of love, longing, and the human connection permeate the album, and will have you hanging on to each word as the music just flows.
