Headed by brothers Marty and Matt Bohannon, the Bohannons are an underappreciated band that has been doing things their way for over 20 years. TFN is excited to premiere their new video for “Ride The Night,” which is from their recently released studio album, Night Construction, via Cornelius Chapel Records.
What we like about this track is that “Ride The Night” finds the band departing from their southern Chattanooga/Alabama roots and Drive-By Truckers’ similarities, by adding some Mudhoney-like grit to the vocals. The track then grinds with pounding drums and Dinosaur Jr.-esque soaring, revved guitars. It’s a song that will win you over quickly!
“The inspiration behind ‘Ride the Night’ was a classic ‘love conquers’ and ‘those that try to interfere with love’. The classic struggle of two lovers trying to be separated by their parents. So much S.E. Hinton and James Dean in the characters. The lovers refuse to be forced to live in the world their prefects want for them.”
