TFN is excited today to premiere a new video from Brooklyn-based band The Wilful Boys. They released their album, World Ward Word Sword on Big Neck Records last summer but now the band is back with this video for “New Job!” The track is from the album and the band recently announced their spot at Big Neck Records Fest which takes place May 5 and May 6th at Outer Limits in Detroit, Michigan.
“New Job” drills straight into employment anxiety with an in your face directness. “Oh my God, I fucked it up!” is a line from the song that I think everyone can connect with if you have worked just one day in your life! Their sound has a very Australian punk rock vibe with its energetic and aggressive approach, that is a blend of punk, garage, and pub rock. The Wilful Boys could easily run with the likes of two of my favorite Melbourne punk acts in Jackson Reid Briggs & The Heaters and the Cutters.
The Wilful Boys are known for their raw and unapologetic sound, and “New Job” is no exception. If you’re a fan of fast-paced, guitar-driven punk rock, you might want to check it out!
