Birmingham musician Cash Langdon has returned today with the announcement of his new solo effort LP, Sinister Feeling, which will be released on October 14th via Earth Libraries. The first single (and opening track) from the forthcoming album is “That Kid,” which TFN is excited to premiere below with the accompanying video!
“That Kid,” has a full DIY sound that matches the video as Langdon shot, edited and animated the video himself. The track is memorable with its lo-fi power pop pulse similar to Young Guv with Cash’s vocals being a catchy indie mix of Brendan Benson and Tim Presley (White Fence). The track’s sincere delivery is the true hook of “That Kid,” as Langdon honestly works through his feelings watching the struggles of loved ones.
Make sure to check out the video below and be on the lookout for Sinister Feeling when the full length drops in October!
“That Kid is about feeling helpless in a situation when you most want to help someone. It was the first song written for the album and laid the groundwork for a lot of what the rest of the album would be about. Inescapable pessimism, family and necessary distance from home are all things touched on in the song as well as elsewhere across Sinister Feeling.”
