The Friday Fire Track: Dumb Numbers – “Girl On The Screen”

Dumb Numbers is the project of Australian musician and filmmaker Adam Harding, who is joined by an excellent cast of rotating friends. Dumb Numbers sophomore LP, Dumb Numbers II, is out August 19th via Joyful Noise Recordings. It features contributions from Lou Barlow (Dinosaur Jr./Sebadoh), Dale Crover (Melvins), David Yow (the Jesus Lizard/Scratch Acid), Murph (Dinosaur Jr.), Kevin Rutmanis (Melvins/Cows), Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten), Bobb Bruno (Best Coast), Bonnie Mercer (Grey Daturas), and Steve Patrick (Useless Children.)

The lead single and today’s Friday Fire Track is “Girl On The Screen,” which features Lou Barlow and Murph of Dinosaur Jr.. If you are thinking that this track will take a Dinosaur Jr. turn you will be surprised as it rhythmically soars with its big layered vocals and slow to mid-tempo pulse. It is a song that gets deeper in your head with every play. Our suggestion – let it!
