Why not? So many bands from the past have been reforming, why not welcome back Veruca Salt? Maybe because you are sure to be disappointed? Ok – today’s Fire Track, “Empty Bottle,” might make you rethink that assumption.
Having reformed with their original line-up back in 2013, Veruca Salt is set to return with their new LP, Ghost Notes on July 10th. This will be the first record featuring Louise Post and Nina Gordon, since 1997’s Eight Arms to Hold You. Having already spiked my interest from the previous two cuts from the Brad Wood produced record; I believe this one may seal the deal.
“Empty Bottle” shows that the quartet still have goods left in the tank. The mellow beginning convinces you that Ghost Notes is going to be “that” type of record until the exploding 1:37 moment resurrects their early 90’s glory. You can be the judge below!
