Does some lo-fi psychedelic garage rock sound up your alley? If you answered yes then this new track from Seattle’s The Pharmacy will surely get your weekend started.
From the opening retro jangle of guitar to the psychedelic drumming, The Pharmacy draws you into “Masten Lake Lagoon” right away. The song is almost four minutes long which allows plenty of instrument play that includes an especially catchy Doors like keys in the middle and a grinding guitar showmanship that fills its last third. This of course all happens around singer Scott Yoder’s laid back vocals as he swims just above the hazy fuzz.
“Masten Lake Lagoon” is off the band’s forthcoming album, Spells, which is out August 12th via Old Flame Records. The album was written mostly in a cabin in Big Sur and recorded in the basement of a used car museum in downtown Tacoma which only heightens our anticipation to hear the full length. Enjoy The Pharmacy!
If you are interested in the LP, it is limited to 500 copies over at Old Flame Records. If cassette is your thing you can now find it courtesy of Burger Records.
