Car Seat Headrest’s proper first record of all new material for Matador Records has real potential to be one of the better indie records we hear this year. Teens of Denial does not officially hit until May 20 but today’s Fire Track “Fill In The Blank” is totally going to have you going for the pre-order link with its rocking Strokes like vibe.
The lo-fi pop history and catalog for Car Seat Headrest, aka Will Toledo, is extensive and all a great listen. Last year’s excellent Teens of Style captured some of the best so the slightly bigger sound on “Fill In The Blank” may scare some longtime fans. I would say don’t be afraid because from what we have heard of the new material so far it seems like Car Seat Headrest is set to take off. Judge for yourself below and enjoy your Friday!
