The softer side of dreamy indie rock has been growing steam lately and The Proper Ornaments newest release could easily be another champion of the genre. The project of James Hoare (Ultimate Painting, Veronica Falls) and Max Oscarnold (Toy) – will release their sophomore album, Foxhole, on January 20 via Slumberland Records (US) and Tough Love Records (ROW).
The band has launched their new track “Bridge By A Tunnel” and it will easily sink into your mind. Foxhole is the follow up to the bands 2014 released debut album Wooden Head, in January 2015. On Foxhole they’ve sliced away a whole stratum of their sound, removing some distortion and lowering the frequency of plectrum strokes to allow more nuanced, piano-led ideas to emerge. This description seems to lean to more of headphone type of record!
If you are interested in the limited vinyl hop over to Slumberland to pick up a nice looking red/white copy. The band also starts touring at the end of this month and you can find the current dates below.
