Curtis Harding Takes Off with New Single “True Love Can’t Be Blind”

Curtis Harding just launched the first transmission from his next interstellar adventure, and it’s a burst of pure soul sunshine. “True Love Can’t Be Blind” is the opening signal from his upcoming album Departures & Arrivals: Adventures of Captain Curt, out September 5. It’s a cosmic concept album with heart—tracking a space-traveling pilot lost in the stars and searching for his way back to love.

But don’t expect cold synths and bleeps. This track beams in warmth. “True Love Can’t Be Blind” is bursting with glowing piano, joyful harmonies, and a chorus that lifts off like it’s got rocket fuel in the tank. It’s Harding at his most radiant—singing about long-distance love with the clarity of someone who’s stared into the void and still believes in connection.

Recorded at Adrian Quesada’s Electric Deluxe Recorders in Austin, Departures & Arrivals sees Harding back in the production chair, dialing into his creative frequency with confidence and fire. Inspired by big-screen sci-fi legends like Ridley Scott, Harding doesn’t just craft songs—he builds galaxies. With lush string arrangements from genre-shapeshifter Steve Hackman, this album promises soul music on a cinematic scale.

It’s the follow-up to 2021’s If Words Were Flowers, but Harding’s not repeating himself. Think space-funk, psych detours, and gospel-soaked grooves all orbiting around that voice—rich, raw, and unmistakable.

If “True Love Can’t Be Blind” is any hint, Departures & Arrivals won’t just be a record—it’ll be a journey. Buckle up.
