Fire Track: Radioactivity – “Time Won’t Bring Me Down”

Ten Years Later, Radioactivity Ignite Again

Jeff Burke and company are back and sounding sharper than ever. Time Won’t Bring Me Down, their long-awaited third LP, arrives a full decade after 2015’s Silent Kill—but any fear of rust evaporates the second the needle drops.

The title track “Time Won’t Bring Me Down” bursts out of the gate with the kind of adrenaline-fueled hook that first put Burke on the map with The Marked Men and The Reds. His knack for punchy, unforgettable melodies is still unmatched, and the band—Mark Ryan (Marked Men, Mind Spiders, O-D-EX) plus Daniel Fried and Gregory Rutherford (Bad Sports)—is locked in tight.

Across eleven songs in just thirty minutes, Radioactivity balance their trademark rush with a new sense of dimension. Yes, there are breakneck blasts like “Why” that will knock the wind out of you, but the record also slides into unexpected territory. “Analog Ways,” “Ignorance Is Bliss,” and “Shell” slow things down and reveal a band willing to stretch their sound without losing an ounce of grit.

Time Won’t Bring Me Down isn’t just a comeback—it’s proof that Burke’s songwriting continues to evolve while staying unmistakably his own. Out October 31 on Dirtnap Records in North America and Wild Honey Records in Europe, this one’s a straight shot of pure, hook-loaded rock ’n’ roll.
