Strange Passage stretch the sky wider with “Hunter’s Fancy”
Strange Passage just dropped their new single, “Hunter’s Fancy,” and it’s the perfect sneak peek into what’s coming with A Folded Sky, their second album out November 7 via Meritorio Records.
This record feels like the band finally locking into their own lane—sharp melodies driving forward on motorik rhythms, with shades of Velvet Underground haze and the sharp political undercurrent you’d expect from bands like McCarthy or Zounds. It’s tuneful, restless, and alive, the kind of thing that makes you want to turn the volume just a little too high.
The lineup—Greg Witz (guitar), Ricky Hartman (drums), Andrew Jackmauh (bass), and Renato Montenegro (guitar, vocals)—aren’t new kids on the block. These East Coast vets have cut their teeth in groups like The Spatulas, Invisible Rays, Missionary Work, and more, so the chemistry here is no accident.
If you’re into bands like Felt, The Church, The Feelies, or early R.E.M., this one’s going to hit your sweet spot.
Strange Passage – A Folded Sky is out on LP/DIGITAL November 7, 2025, via Meritorio Records.
