Snooper – “Guard Dog” [Video]

Snooper Unleash Their Bite with “Guard Dog”

Nashville’s own Snooper are back with another jolt of chaos and charm. Their new single and video, “Guard Dog,” comes charging out ahead of Worldwide, the band’s upcoming full-length dropping October 3rd on Third Man Records.

“Guard Dog” is all bark and bite — a blast of punk energy that flips paranoia and pressure into something you can scream along to. Blair Tramel howls through the chorus like someone refusing to be caged in: “Contradiction // lifestyle // Stick here for awhile // Believe it true!” It’s tense, twitchy, and—most importantly—fun.

Tramel sums it up best: the track is about change, second-guessing, trust and distrust, and still keeping momentum. Growth, after all, doesn’t have to mean losing your edge.

Formed by Tramel and guitarist Connor Cummins, Snooper have quickly evolved from DIY weirdos to underground favorites, turning their jagged beginnings into something sharper, catchier, and more unpredictable. Worldwide pushes them further, built on rhythm, repetition, and Tramel’s knack for writing hooks that stick in your head for days. The band recorded with John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen, Explosions in the Sky), leaning into experimentation without losing their high-voltage spark.

Snooper — now rounded out by bassist Happy Haugen, drummer Brad Barteau, and guitarist Conner Sullivan — are hitting the road with The Hives next month before returning to Nashville for their own release party. Expect sweat, speed, and songs that refuse to sit still.
