Drummer: Feel Good Together [Album Review]

Drummer
Feel Good Together
Audio Eagle Records [2009]

Feel Good Together is a straight-ahead indie rock set from Drummer, the side project helmed by Black Keys timekeeper Patrick Carney—here holding down bass duties. The guitars jitter and jangle with a Pavement-like wobble, while the vocals lean into a rough-edged, Sebadoh-style bite. It’s unfussy and immediate: punchy drums, wiry riffs, and songs that get to the point without overpolishing the edges.

As debuts go, this one shows plenty of promise. The band keeps the energy high and the arrangements lean, letting the grooves carry the weight. When Drummer lock in, they hit that sweet spot between basement-show grit and hooky, road-ready melodies—music built for small rooms and loud speakers.
