Soul Position
Things Go Better With RJ And Al
Rhymesayers Records [2006]

Soul Position is the duo of producer RJD2 and rapper Blueprint. You may already know RJD2 from his acclaimed solo albums Deadringer (2002) and Since We Last Spoke (2004), as well as his production work for Massive Attack, UNKLE, and Aesop Rock. Here, the duo returns with their second full-length of streetwise, indie-rooted hip-hop that trades flash for substance.
On Things Go Better With RJ And Al, Blueprint keeps things grounded, delivering rhymes about everyday topics like phones, parties, and relationships—nothing grimy or overhyped, just real, slice-of-life bars. It’s refreshing and casual, yet full of personality. Soul Position brings a much-needed lighter tone to the hip-hop landscape, and the result is an easygoing and consistently enjoyable listen.
