The Boojums keep their hot streak alive with the video for “Football,” a highlight from their excellent self-titled debut album, out now via Having Fun Records—the new imprint from Toronto’s We Are Busy Bodies.
Shot with the same grit and warmth that runs through the song, the video captures the band’s heartland rock spirit in motion. “Football” feels like a nostalgic flicker of small-town life—equal parts Springsteen anthem and coming-of-age movie. Recorded live off the floor, it’s got that crackling energy of a band chasing magic in real time. Frontman Willie Stratton says the song was inspired by evenings by the river in Bedford, where the local field “looks like the kind of place that should exist in a Bruce Springsteen song.”
A perfect soundtrack for late-night drives, missed chances, and second winds—“Football” is The Boojums at their most cinematic.
