My Type EP
Elektra Records [2015]

Fire Drill Album Review: From the opening sax on “My Type,” California’s Saint Motel hook you with the latest infectious song of the summer. Pretty good for a track that has been around since 2013 but Saint Motel are proof that sometimes it takes time for music to cycle as their My Type EP was reissued this year by Elektra. With a sound that mixes Walk The Moon’s energy and pop with a voice like Brandon Flowers from the Killers, Saint Motel have all the makings of a blockbuster on the My Type EP. The sultry groove of “Ace In The Hole” is catchy while the sing along moments in “Cold Cold Man” will keep you coming back. I am not sure what their full length will bring but if they can muster up a similar cohesion like this EP you could be hearing a bunch more from Saint Motel in 2016.
