KICKSTARTER/ PRE-ORDER LINK

The Fire Note is excited to share our longtime friend and one of our favorite artists, Tim Easton’s, new album campaign on Kickstarter! His upcoming record, fiREHORSE, is currently being recorded in Nashville. The campaign offers some great bundles and rewards—including signed vinyl, CDs, T-shirts, and more—plus some very cool album artwork created by his sister. The album won’t be out until 2026, but you can check out some fantastic-sounding snippets in the campaign video above. ” One quick listen and “615 Heartbreaker” already sounds like it will be an album highlight!

Raised in Akron, OH, singer/songwriter Tim Easton was influenced by a mix of pop icons (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones) and bluegrass/folk legends (Doc Watson, John Prine). After college, Easton spent seven years busking on and off in the streets of Paris, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Prague—at one point alongside anti-folk hero Beck Hansen. His folk-based songwriting brought an earthy sound to the Haynes Boys, a rock band that recruited him in the mid-’90s. Together, they recorded one album, Guardian Angel, for New York-based Slab Records. Easton then pursued a solo career, recording his debut album, Special 20, with session musicians in Nashville.

In 1999, he signed with EMI Publishing, relocated to Los Angeles, and performed at songwriter hubs like Largo. That same year, he signed a recording contract with New West Records. His first release for the label, 2001’s The Truth About Us, featured members of Wilco as his backing band. He followed it with 2003’s Break Your Mother’s Heart and 2006’s Ammunition. We would love to see these New West Records releases finally make their way to vinyl.

Tim’s latest project, fiREHORSE, is currently being funded through Kickstarter, with just 22 days left. Independent artists like Tim rely on direct support from fans to keep making music, and every dollar truly makes a difference for a working artist. If you believe in the power of great songwriting, now is the perfect time to back this project and help bring fiREHORSE to life!
