In the current scene with artists like Father John Misty, Edward Sharpe and Tobias Jesso Jr., Oakland’s Whiskerman fit right in with their sweeping and emotional song “Cardinal City.” The Fire Track today has plenty of infectious moments from the graceful strings playing throughout its background to the soft piano that floats in the undertone while singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Graham Patzner takes this song to the next level – especially as the large wave of a chorus crashes over your speakers!
“Cardinal City” is from Whiskerman’s forthcoming new record, NOMAD, that is due out October 9th via OIM Records. The album was produced by Jeff Saltzman (The Killers, Blondie) and should build upon the group’s already large Bay Area fanbase. Check them out for yourself below as Whiskerman is the Friday Fire Track feature today!
