Well Fire Note faithful, it’s finally that time. What seems like a long while- w h o k i l l was only 3 years ago- Merrill Garbus a.k.a. tUnE-yArDs is readying her next release, Nikki Nack, for a May 6th drop date. Because music like this is definitely hard to come by, I know that I’m ready.
The first taste comes to us in the form of “Water Fountain.” With its’ schoolyard double-dutch rhythms and world music flare Garbus picks right back up where she left off. Lyrics range from, daddy shooting bears, woo-hahs, bloody dollar bills, and saving pennies up for a special guy. Garbus has always been an interesting entity in music today. “Water Fountain” further proves that point only making us more excited for Nikki Nack‘s drop date.
