We have not seen a release from Nathan Oliver since their 2009 sophomore effort Cloud Animals. That is quite a bit of time since the once bedroom project of Nathan White expanded into a full band. 2017 finds the group reemerging today with a 6-song EP titled Head In The Sand via PotLuck Foundation.
The record is a high five to several classic alternative eras but still feels fresh. Take today’s Friday Fire Track “Marbles” for a spin and you will hear the pulsing rhythms of past groups such as Girls Against Boys and Brainiac while having the current edge of Wavves and Cloud Nothings. It is a solid “we are back” type of song as Nathan Oliver makes their confident return. Enjoy your Friday!
