2013 made for an interesting year in music, not that it wasn’t packed full of its own surprises. It only seemed that there were a few stand outs. 2014 seems to be well on its way to fixing that. Fire Note favorites, Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s are primed to release their anticipated 5th album Sling Shot To Heaven on April 22, 2014.
Bringing a serious emotional component to sex, drugs, and the occasional rock and roll, “Hello, San Francisco” is simply a beautiful return to form. Richard Edwards’ vocals ache with sincerity as he calls “Let’s throw our bones away.” A signature female vocal echo is all tied together with a wonderfully melancholy lap steel played by Erik “Sweet Baby” Kang. Enjoy the new track below.
If this has tempted you, pre-orders are being taken at their website. Based on this track, TFN cannot wait to hear how the full album turns out.
