In related news. Sera Cahoone’s Deer Creek Canyon and its title cut were featured via NPR Music’s “First Listen” and “Fall Music Preview” , respectively. Of Deer Creek Canyon, NPR Music says, “Dressed in banjos, slide guitars, mandolins and strings, even Cahoone’s saddest songs have a palliative effect. Like the two tremendous and mystifyingly little-heard albums that precede it, Deer Creek Canyon adds up to one long, calm, welcome pep talk — a perfectly warm and warming supplement to hot cider on a chilly fall day.”
Deer Creek Canyon, her long-awaited third album, is available now via Sub Pop on CD, LP, and digitally. The 12-track album was co-produced by Cahoone and Thom Monahan (Beachwood Sparks, Vetiver) at Bear Creek Studios, and features the lead single, “Naked”, alongside standouts “Worry All Your Life”, “And We Still Move” and “Shakin’ Hands”. You can purchase the album at SubPop.com; iTunes; Amazon; or at a fine retailer near you.
More on Sera Cahoone’s Deer Creek Canyon:
Six years later (four since her widely acclaimed Sub Pop debut Only as the Day Is Long), Cahoone is readying the release of her third solo effort – an album which sees her ruminating on the gravitational pull of home. Titled for the Colorado canyon where she came of age, where her mother still lives, Deer Creek Canyon delves deeper and sees her voice remarkably stronger than on her previous albums (read more at Sub Pop).
