We are really enjoying the double shots here at The Fire Note! Today’s Fire Track is another premiere and the honor is courtesy of Denver, Colorado’s Somerset Catalog. Their new song “Broken Elbow,” is off their forthcoming record, Lonely Fang, which is due out October 30th via Misra Records.
From the opening strong pulsing beat, “Broken Elbow” may surprise you when it settles into a much darker hovering crawler. Somerset Catalog showcase their layered vocals as the element takes the focus here and lets the foot tapping synthesizer flow through the background. “Broken Elbow” is a track that holds you with its hidden intensity. The song consistently simmers and keeps your attention right up to its stressed finish.
Somerset Catalog is an indie band to keep an ear on and “Broken Elbow” is another reason to put their full length on your radar. You can listen for yourself below – enjoy!
