Fire Track: Guided By Voices – “I Am A Scientist (30th Anniversary Version)”

| |

Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Guided By Voices’ 1994 lo-fi classic, Bee Thousand, the band is sharing the newly recorded version of “I Am A Scientist” in high fidelity. Pitchfork and Spin have called Bee Thousand one of the best records of the ’90s, and Amazon picked it as #1 on their list of the 100 Greatest Indie Rock Albums Of All Time.

The new hi-fi version of “I Am A Scientist” will be released digitally and as an extremely limited edition 7” vinyl single (1000 copies), only available as part of a 30th Anniversary bundle at GBV.com.

The current Guided By Voices line-up, Robert Pollard, guitarist Doug Gillard, drummer Kevin March, bassist Mark Shue and guitarist Bobby Bare Jr, have recorded an incredible string of 17 albums since 2017. Their most recent album, Strut Of Kings, was released June 28th, to much acclaim.

The band are currently touring the US through October, including a stop at Hopscotch Festival in Raleigh, NC. Tickets and information can be found HERE.
