This Is Not The End

Who: This Is Not The End is Oslo, Norway’s Spielbergs debut full length.

Sound: Spielbergs have a throwback alt rock sound that will have Superdrag fans loving the hooks and Hum fans loving the guitars.

TFN Final Take: The Spielbergs are an easy throwback to the alt rock heydays of the 90’s. I say that with a pure admiration for the style as this three piece from Norway have a spirited edge to their sound which keeps their debut This Is Not The End very fresh. Big hooks and a raw background will have you thinking Replacements or Beach Slang but their harmonies are in synch and clean like Superdrag while the band showcases muscular guitar riffs that are very post-rock. This blend gives Spielbergs a welcome mat for 2019 and This Is Not The End sticks with you because its catchy. They also have two songs that almost hit the 6 minute mark while the spacey “McDonalds (Please Don t Fuck Up My Order)” drones along with a 7 minute running time. Spielbergs offer enough diversity here to keep any indie rocker interested and This Is Not The End only becomes more memorable with every spin!
