Reissue Alert: Urge Ovekill / Self / Man Or Astro-Man?

reissues
One major positive about the growing interest in vinyl is that many favorites are finding a new pressing. I am not talking about all the major label and Record Store Day releases that are clogging the production plants but albums like these three new announcements which are harder to find or not been pressed before.

First up is Urge Overkill’s Stull EP. Twenty three years after its original release, and over 20 years since Uma Thurman famously lip-synced to the Urge Overkill cover of “Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon”, Touch and Go will reissue the long out-of-print EP on October 30, 2015. The white variant is limited to 500 copies. There is also a standard black. You can order one up HERE.

Next up is Self’s Gizmodery. “Trunk Fulla Amps motherf**ker” is all that needs to be said here. It has been 15 years since this album made from kids’ instruments was first released and this will be the first time it is available on vinyl. The limited edition cayan blue vinyl includes the edited version of “Trunk Fulla Amps” as well as the Japan-only b-side ‘Resurrect’. You can grab a copy at El Camino Media HERE.

Last but not least is Man or Astro-Man?s 1997 EP 1000X. This one kicks off with the surf/space rocker “The Miracle Of Genuine Pyrex” and just gets better from there. Typically harder to find, this reissue from Touch and Go should be on your list. The limited release comes out October 16 and you can pre-order one HERE.
