Weakened Friends Drop Blistering New Track “Tough Luck (Bleed Me Out)” + Announce Album Feels Like Hell
Portland, Maine trio Weakened Friends are back and sounding louder, looser, and more fired up than ever. Their new single “Tough Luck (Bleed Me Out)” is out now—and it’s a raucous kiss-off to hustle culture, burnout, and being told to smile while everything’s falling apart. It’s the opening track from Feels Like Hell, their third LP, out October 10 via Don Giovanni.
The song kicks in like a brick through a window. Sonia Sturino’s voice is raw and totally unfiltered, tearing through lines that flip grind culture the bird while Annie Hoffman’s bass locks in tight and unrelenting. Drummer Adam Hand rounds it out with pounding urgency, turning frustration into pure catharsis. The video—shot in their hometown at Portland’s historic State Theatre—is a full-force performance piece, all LED walls and sweat, directed by longtime visual collaborator Jim Gilbert.
“Tough Luck” isn’t just angry—it’s fed up, unafraid, and kind of liberating. It’s for anyone who’s ever been chewed up and spit out by late capitalism and still made it to band practice.
And Feels Like Hell as a whole? It’s big, brash, and brave. It’s the sound of a band completely in their element—raw nerves, sharp hooks, and no filter. It’s also the first album Sonia’s made since embracing their identity as gender-nonconforming, and the confidence bleeds through in every note. No more shrinking. No more smoothing edges. Just honesty, volume, and joy in the mess.
Weakened Friends aren’t just making noise—they’re building something fierce and true out of all the broken pieces. Catch them on the road this fall (including Riot Fest!), and crank this one all the way up.
