I think everyone can agree that COVID-19 has changed just about every aspect of our life. Countless industries have been impacted and had to adapt while the art of making music has not been immune. That brings us to today’s video premiere from Dayton, Ohio’s Smug Brothers!
After a highly productive 2019 that saw the band releasing a trifecta of solid indie albums (Serve A Thirsty Moon, Attic Harvest and All Blur And Spark), longtime members Kyle Melton and Don Thrasher got to work on a fresh batch of tunes. What should have been a new LP, now was just another victim of the COVID crisis. Not so fast!
Smug Brothers has decided to release three 10-minute digital singles to simplify the band’s working method for 2020. Flame Verbatim is the first in this series and today’s video premiere is for the lead track, “If You’re Free.” Flame Verbatim is available next Friday on August 7th with the second installment set to launch in September 2020.
Check out the video today and get ready to enjoy “If You’re Free” plus 3 more Smug Brothers tracks next week!
