Video Premiere: Canyon Lights – “Breathe Easy”

“A swampy, blues-rock gut punch—Canyon Lights’ “Breathe Easy” single proves this trio is built for the long haul.”

Today marks the official video premiere of “Breathe Easy,” the searing new single from blues-rock trio Canyon Lights. Captured live at Third Street Music in Hamilton, Ohio during a rare off-day on tour, the performance showcases the band’s high-voltage chemistry and road-tested grit.

Filmed while supporting the legendary George Thorogood & The Destroyers, this video captures Canyon Lights at their most electric—locked in, loose, and letting the music speak for itself. Fronted by former GA-20 members Pat Faherty and Tim Carman, and joined by dynamic multi-instrumentalist Heather Gillis, the band brings swampy Americana, vintage rock swagger, and soul-deep blues to the stage with undeniable force.

The addition of Gillis on backup vocals and P-bass—she wasn’t part of the studio version—brings new heat and texture to this already smoldering track. Speaking on the energy behind the video and the new lineup, drummer and co-founder Tim Carman shared:

“Here is a live performance of our original song “Breathe Easy,” filmed and recorded at Third Street Music in Hamilton, OH on an off day during our tour opening for George Thorogood and The Destroyers. We’ve been closing our sets with “Breathe Easy” and found that the song has a fire to it live that we wanted to capture. Also, the addition of Heather Gillis, who did not play on the studio record, on back-up vocals and P-bass adds some grease to the performance. Check it out and make sure to spin the single, available on all streaming platforms.”

“Breathe Easy” is the second single and title track from the group’s forthcoming debut album, set to drop later this summer. It follows their December release of “Seventh Son”, a live-recorded track that introduced the full trio’s powerful dynamic.

Make sure to check out the video premiere of “Breathe Easy” above, stream the track everywhere now, and stay tuned—Canyon Lights are just getting warmed up.
