Light the Fuse: Rocket Blast Off with “Act Like Your Title”

Los Angeles alt-rockers Rocket are gearing up for liftoff with their latest single, “Act Like Your Title,” the second preview from their upcoming debut album R is for Rocket (out October 3rd via Transgressive Records / Canvasback). The track is all shimmer and surge—equal parts catharsis and confrontation—showing off the band’s knack for turning messy emotions into anthems you’ll want to scream along with.

Bassist and vocalist Alithea Tuttle shares that the song wrestles with family dynamics and the frustration of hoping someone will live up to expectations they never quite reach. Heavy subject matter, but Rocket wrap it in fuzzed-out guitars, soaring harmonies, and a punchy rhythm section that keeps things moving with urgency and heart.

It follows the jagged rush of “Wide Awake” and lands with even more confidence, proving Rocket are more than ready for the big stages they’ve been storming all year—from international festivals to opening slots for Ride, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Smashing Pumpkins. Their sound pulls from the golden era of ‘90s guitar heroes like Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine but injects it with a fresh, wide-eyed energy that’s unmistakably their own.

R is for Rocket was tracked between vintage-vibed 64 Sound in Highland Park and the cavernous Studio 606 (Foo Fighters’ home base), giving the record both intimacy and thunder. The result is an album that doesn’t just ride nostalgia—it reshapes it into something immediate, loud, and deeply alive.

And if that wasn’t enough, Rocket are about to hit the road for their first-ever US headline tour. Don’t miss your chance to catch them before they’re everywhere.
