Kula Shaker – “Lucky Number” [Video]

Kula Shaker Hit the Cosmic Jackpot

Kula Shaker are back in full color with their new single “Lucky Number,” a bold, head first rush of psych rock that kicks the door open on their upcoming album Wormslayer, out January 30. If this track is any indication, the band isn’t easing into this era. They’re charging straight through it.

“Lucky Number” lands as the opening track on Wormslayer, and it sets the tone fast. Thick riffs spiral outward, the rhythm section locks into a glam-leaning strut, and Jay Darlington’s Hammond organ splashes neon across the whole thing. Crispian Mills sounds energized and slightly unhinged in the best way, spinning lyrics that feel mystical, playful, and just grounded enough to pull you along for the ride.

Mills describes the song as a nod to those who see meaning in patterns and numbers, the kind that seem to follow you around for no clear reason. Whether you buy into cosmic signs or not, the track carries that sense of curiosity and momentum, like the universe might actually be winking back at you.

The video leans into Kula Shaker’s live power, pulling footage from their intimate Inner Circle UK shows. Highlights include their stop at Liverpool’s Cavern Club, where the band was honored with a brick in the Cavern Wall of Fame. It’s raw, sweaty, and a reminder that this band still thrives on stage.
