GUV – “Warmer Than Gold” [Video]

| |

GUV turns the dial to full shimmer on “Warmer Than Gold.

GUV is back and glowing. Ben Cook’s long-evolving guitar pop project returns with the title track from his upcoming album Warmer Than Gold, arriving January 30th via Run For Cover Records. The new single, “Warmer Than Gold,” picks up right where “Let Your Hands Go” left off, but pushes even further into a rush of bright hooks, steady grooves, and dreamy guitar layers that make this chapter of GUV feel fresh and wide open.

The track shows Cook hitting a sweet spot between Britpop bounce, baggy sway, indie pop charm, and early shoegaze haze, all filtered through his own unmistakable touch. It’s buoyant and warm, the kind of song that feels instantly familiar without repeating a single idea. The video amplifies that energy, giving the track a vivid world to live in.

Warmer Than Gold was shaped with help from an impressive crew including James Matthew Seven, Darcy Baylis, Hatchie, Meg Mills of Turnstile, and several others. The record reflects Cook’s path from childhood days split between Toronto and England to his prolific Young Guv era, and now this new phase that feels both confident and completely revitalized.
