Gus Baldwin – “Pesticide Song” [Video]

| |

Austin’s wild child gets loud — Gus Baldwin drops “Pesticide Song” video and hits the road.

Austin’s own Gus Baldwin just unleashed the official video for “The Pesticide Song,” a blast of fuzzed-out energy from his self-titled solo debut Gus Baldwin. The track hums with chaotic charm and hooks that cut through like a chainsaw — the kind of tune that could light up a basement or a big stage. The video, which premiered via New Noise Magazine, captures Baldwin’s gritty DIY spirit in full color.

Out now via Permanent Teeth, Gus Baldwin is a bold first solo statement from one of Austin’s most magnetic voices. Recorded on a trusty Tascam 388 and mixed by Roky Moon (American Sharks), the record swerves between garage rock grit, 60s psych sparkle, and pure power-pop adrenaline. Think Bad Nerves colliding head-on with The Hives — only with more heart, humor, and tape hiss.

Between his solo work and fronting his band The Sketch, Baldwin’s carved out a reputation as a livewire performer with songs that blur the line between chaos and catharsis. “Each song is a piece of me trying to figure out who I was, and how the world was changing around me,” he says. Gus Baldwin captures that feeling — the messy, beautiful noise of early adulthood, turned up loud.

Gus Baldwin, the album, released on Friday, October 24th on LP, download and all streaming platforms. Gus Baldwin is available to hear & share on all DSPs HERE. Vinyl LPs and downloads are available at Bandcamp HERE.
