FUZZ – “Jack The Maggot (Demo)” [Video]

| |

The California power trio FUZZ — Ty Segall, Charles Moothart, and Chad Ubovich — are back with FUZZ’s Fourth Dream, landing this December via In The Red Records. The album digs deep into the archives for a stash of unreleased demos, singles, and raw gems that trace the band’s noisy evolution from late-night jams to full-blown fuzzed-out chaos.

Their new single, “Jack The Maggot (demo)”, hits like a basement jam gone beautifully wrong — all distorted edges, grit, and attitude. The Andrew Hooper–directed video captures that off-the-rails energy the band built its legend on.

Moothart recalls the band’s early spark from his San Francisco crash pad days, where the walls reeked of smoke, beer, and possibility. “It was a chaotic space,” he says, “but one that held a lot of magic.” A midnight riff session between Moothart and Segall would become “FUZZ’s Fourth Dream” — and eventually, the band itself.

The collection stands as both a history lesson and a celebration — a gritty scrapbook of the moments that birthed one of rock’s loudest dreams.
